About Us
Tampa Truck Center officially began operations 5/1/2008. However, our heritage and experience is rooted in more than 75 years
of distinguished service to the commercial truck operators of West Central Florida. Tampa Truck Center came into being as a result
of the consolidation of Freightliner of Tampa, formerly Hunt Truck Sales, Inc., and Sterling and Western Star Trucks of Tampa, formerly Gator Ford.
During the first several months of 2008 we worked hard to consolidate the operations of Freightliner of Tampa with those of Sterling &
Western Star Trucks of Tampa. This effort has allowed us to bring together the best people and processes from the two dealerships
resulting in the establishment of West Central Florida’s newest commercial truck dealership.
Throughout the process we asked ourselves one simple question. Will this result in an improvement in our ability to serve our customers?
That’s why we settled on using the US Highway 301 location. The proximity to Interstates 4 and 75, the recent widening of 301, and
the additional acreage add up to a dealership that is easier to get to and more accommodating once you’re here. In addition we are
open 7:00 AM to Midnight Monday – Friday and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday making Tampa Truck Center the most accessible
truck dealership on Florida’s west coast. On top of that the merger allowed us to assemble the most highly qualified team of
commercial truck professionals this market has ever seen.
